About Me

Breanna Norris is a KPA-CTP (Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner). She is a proud Professional Member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) since 2013 and Supporting Member of the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants). Breanna is also a certified Wag It Games instructor, certified Trick Dog Instructor and certified in pet first aid and CPR.

Breanna shares her home with two dogs, two cats and two rats.

Breanna strongly believes in continuing education for animal trainers which is why she frequently takes new classes and attends conferences.

Some of her favorite continuing education has been:

  • IAABC Animal Behavior Principle and Practice course with instructors including Dr. Mary Burch, Ken Ramirez, Dr. Susan Friedman, Chirag Patel and Dr. Suzanne Hetts among others.

  • Pet Professional Guild’s annual summit with talks and workshops with Dr. Bob Bailey, Emily Larlham, Dr. Karen Overall, Dr. Iiana Reisner, Pat Miller and Dr Nathan Hall among many others.

  • Dr. Susan Friedman’s Living and Learning with Animals: The Fundamental Principles of Teaching and Learning.

Breanna writes a recurring book review column for PPG’s Barks from The Guild publication where she reviews the latest science based training and behavior books.

Breanna also assists with the Animal Training class at Unity College.

She began her training career working with horses, initially as a farrier and then progressing to training. Her favorite thing to train horses was tricks and skills to become comfortable with trims and shoeing.

Breanna later moved on to working with dogs. Occasionally she still sees a horse client. Or even cat, rabbit or rat!
